The Littleton School Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Caira as Superintendent of Schools for the Littleton Public Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Caira’s appointment reflects the Committee’s confidence in his leadership, experience, and commitment to advancing educational excellence for all students in the district.
Dr. Caira brings a distinguished career in public education, spanning several decades of service in a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, he has served as Assistant Superintendent in the Ashland Public Schools, where he has been instrumental in supporting instructional leadership, curriculum development, and district-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing student achievement and strengthening school community engagement. His collaborative leadership style and dedication to fostering inclusive, high-performing school environments make him an excellent fit for the Littleton community.

Throughout the search process, Dr. Caira demonstrated a clear vision for public education, a strong commitment to student success, and an ability to build meaningful partnerships with educators, families, and the broader community. Dr. Caira will officially begin his tenure on July 1, 2026. The School Committee extends its appreciation to all members of the school community who participated in the search process and looks forward to supporting a smooth and successful leadership transition.
