MUSIC at LMS

<>Music – 6^th grade

Chorus – 6^th grade
Chorus – 7^th / 8^th grade

All 6^th and 7^th grade students take Music class once a week for the entire school year.

The 6^th grade curriculum is comprised of the following Units of Study:

Blues
Musical Theater
Beginning Guitar
World Drumming

The 7^th grade curriculum consists of the following Units of Study:

Overview of famous composers
Conducting
Careers in Music
Music of the Holidays
History of Rock and Roll

1950’s
1960’s
1970’s / 1980’s

The grading for Music class is determined in the following method:

Participation
Assignments (Homework and in class)
Tests / Quizzes / Projects

CHORUS at LMS

There are two CHORUS groups at LMS: <>

6^th grade Chorus meets twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday).

7^th and 8^th grade Chorus meets three times a week (Monday / Wednesday / Friday).

Both groups perform twice a year for friends and family. The Spring Concert will be May 14^th, 2008 at 7PM. <>

DRAMA at LMS

Drama productions at LMS are open to all middle school students, regardless of experience. Students are currently in rehearsal for “The Pirates of Penzance,” which will perform in the Middle School Auditorium on the following dates:

Friday, March 28^th, 2008 at 7pm

Saturday, March 29^th, 2008 at 7pm

Sunday, March 30^th, 2008 at 2pm
