Title: Something Upstairs
Plot Summary: In
the story Something Upstairs there is a little boy named Kenny Huldorf who
has just moved to a new house in Providence Rhode Island. In his new house,
he meets a ghost that was killed there many years ago named Caleb. Caleb
asks Kenny to help find out the identity of his murderer because Caleb does
not know who killed him.
Review: I would say that the characters are very believable because they "come alive" with an equal balance of good and negative qualities. Take Kenny for example, he has many believable characteristics of a young boy, but some of the things that are told about him are just not very believable. The purpose of the story was to get Kenny's story out. The author makes it out to be that this story is non-fiction, so Kenny wants to be heard and have everyone know what he has gone through. This story is made to seem like things are very different in the time period in which this story takes place. I don't think that I was left with any special insight into the character of Kenny or Caleb, except that when I was reading the story, i could almost feel the emtions that they were portraying. I think that the plot of this story was very interesting and it was very easy to follow. The characters were believable and felt like someone that you could meet at any time. The author has a very unique style of writing and is very easy to follow, although sometimes he blurs the line between whats real and not real.
