School Closings
The decision to close school or to delay the opening of school is made in the interest of the safety of all school children and school staff and is based upon information available. the schools recognize and respect the right of parents to exercise their own judgment on the advisability of sending their children to school on a particular day, since conditions change and may vary from one location to another.
NO SCHOOL - If schools are to be closed for the day, the fire alarm will sound a series of eight (8) blasts according to the following schedule:
High and Middle - 6:15 am
and 6:45 am
Elementary - 7:30 am
PM Kindergarten -
Announcements will be carried on the radio station WBZ (1030am), TV channels 4, 5, 7 and local cable (channel 8) when possible, and the district website www.littletonps.org.
Delayed Opening - If the opening of school is to be delayed ninety (90) minutes, the fire alarm will sound a series of four (4) blasts, according to the above schedule.
Emergency Closing - When an
emergency requires the closing of any individual school, notice will be carried
over the same radio stations used for system wide NO SCHOOL announcements.
