needs children sort out all the paperwork and provide us with information
and support on a variety of services through out Massachusetts and beyond.
Family Ties is a statewide information and support network for families of
children with special needs.  It is a project of the Federation for Children
with Special Needs, funded by the Mass. Dept. of Public Health, Bureau of
Family and Community Health, Division for Special Health Needs.   A

wonderful workshop!

Littleton Special Education Parent Advisory Council would like to welcome parents,
caregivers, teachers and interested citizens to our monthly meetings.  The mission
of the Littleton Special Education Parent Advisory Council is to work towards the
understanding, support, respect, and appropriate education for all children with
special needs in our community.  Our meetings are held on Monday evenings at the
Shaker Lane Library @ 7 pm on the following dates:  Oct 24, 2005, Nov 21st 2005,
Feb. 13th 2006, and Mar 13th 2006.  In years past we have offered workshops on
Basic Rights and the Chapter 766 Laws, ADD, ADHD, Tourettes Syndrome,
Asperger's Syndrome and planning your Individualized Education Plan (IEP).  Every
December we join the town wide holiday bazaar.  Funds raised at the bazaar provide
a graduating senior with a scholarship.  Currently we are planning a joint workshop
with the Wayside Counseling Center and the Littleton Youth Health Advisory Council
on the warning signs of childhood depression and the accompanying behaviors that
exist with depression.  Educational Evaluators and specialists from the Town of
Littleton will also be giving presentations in the winter of 2006.  Brochures are
available at each of the schools.  If you would like a brochure sent to you and/or
have any questions please contact Anne Taylor:
  taylor.aa@verizon.net.
